I got caught up in the middle of one of those group hugs. The kind that happen when team wins a big victory, like an FVC team winning their state competition. Which is exactly what Driven Bolts, the robotics team I’m on, did. Our alliance, which included the π-oneers, Overdrive (another homeschool team) and Driven Bolts took first place at the first ever Garden State Rumble. There was much hoopla, and high scoring, the highest score of the day was 127-8, scored by our alliance during the finals. We also amazingly won the “Name the Event” competition coming up with the “Garden State Rumble” name and winning a Vex starter kit. Now, because our alliance won the competition, we get to go to the national competition in Atlanta, Georgia. We went last year, because we won a lottery, and it was one of the coolest thing I’ve ever been to. Our team website has lots more pictures and information.
